Donation Centre to close for essential works

10 November 2021

OUR Donation Centre is set to close as essential improvement works get underway.

The Donation Centre, based in Fieldhouse Way, not far from Meadowhall, is a central hub for all our donations, enabling us to retain more stock, recycle items and generate the income needed to continue providing our services to all the people of Sheffield.

The centre will, however, be closed between Monday November 15 and Sunday November 28.

Donations are usually accepted at Fieldhouse Way and all our shops every Monday and Friday between 12 noon and 3pm and anybody wanting to make a donation during this short period will still be able to drop off items at any of the shops throughout the city as normal.

For furniture donations, contact our Donation Line on 0114 235 7562 or email [email protected] to arrange a free collection.

At the same time,  the volunteer open day scheduled to be held at the Donation Centre on Wednesday November 17 will still go ahead as planned.

The centre’s volunteer force is a vital part of the service and the open day will give visitors the chance to explore the roles that are currently available, including sorting assistants, donations meet and greet assistants and warehouse assistants.

“This is a great chance to meet the team, chat to our volunteers and ask us questions about the exciting roles available,” said our Volunteer Development Manager Francesca Bradshaw.

“No previous experience is needed and full training will be provided, in all aspects of the role, including health and safety, and all government Covid protocols.

“Whether you've volunteered before or are completely new to volunteering, this session has something for everyone, so come along and meet our friendly team.”

For more information or to register for a place at the open day – slots are available between 11am and 3.30pm – visit volunteering
