Government funding via the NHS Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group covers a declining proportion of the income we need – currently just 25%.
This means that in the financial year 2019-20 we'll need to raise more than £7.5 million of the £10 million total income required.
There’s no charge for any of our services to patients.
It costs £1,160 per hour to run St Luke’s, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Of that £1,160, we have to raise £870 ourselves.
87% of our expenditure goes on direct costs, 13% on support costs.
Because of our high profile in Sheffield and in the local media, some people assume that we’re a rich charity. We aren’t. If all our income were to cease, we could only keep going for about six months.
