In collaboration with St Luke’s, the NHS, and Sheffield City Council, Compassionate Sheffield is dedicated to transforming our city through the power of compassion. Their mission is to enhance the end-of-life experience, ensuring that anyone affected by death has their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs met.
One key initiative is the Life, Loss, and Death Festival, a month-long series of free events across the city. The festival features music, nature activities, writing workshops, open mic sessions, author panels, exhibitions, discussion groups, and more.
The festival also offers opportunities to participate in Advanced Care Planning.
Death is a part of life, and it’s never too early to think about the type of care you might want towards the end of your life. If you're approaching the end of your life, or if you have a life limiting illness, it can be helpful to have conversations about what you want and communicate your feelings with loved ones and care professionals.
The most effective plans are designed and discussed with those closest to you. By talking through and recording your preferences with a care system, you can shape what you want for your end of life care.
