The annual St Luke’s Hospice Service of Celebration and Remembrance returns to Sheffield Cathedral on Sunday 14 December 2025.
The popular annual hospice Christmas event will begin at 2pm, with music from Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus, Stannington Brass Band and Hallam Primary School Choir.
The service, which is open to all, will once again be led by St Luke’s Senior Chaplain, Canon Mike Reeder.
“St Luke’s Service of Celebration and Remembrance at Christmas gives many an opportunity to give thanks for those people and to remember them in an act of remembrance all set within a service of well know carols and readings,” said Mike.
“Many people tell me that this service is the beginning of Christmas for them and that it helps them in the midst of all the hype of the season to take time to remember and give thanks.”
Each year, The St Luke’s Service of Celebration and Remembrance follows on from the hospice’s Festival of Light event held the previous weekend, this year on Sunday 7 December. The names of all those who will be remembered at this year’s events will be placed in the Hospice Chapel for the rest of the Christmas season as a reminder of the many who have been part of all of our lives in the years that have past.
