Get the party started with Maggie’s fundraising bunting

WHATEVER the celebration, Maggie Little has the party bunting to create the perfect atmosphere.

St Luke’s volunteer Maggie, of Nether Edge, has been making and selling strings of the festive flags for eight years, with the money now going to supporting our patient care.

And when lockdown hit and she had plenty of time on her hands, Maggie's creative efforts went into overdrive.

Now bunting for every occasion from birthdays and Halloween to Christmas is being sold at the St Luke’s shops in Nether Edge, Ecclesall Road and Broomhill, where Maggie is part of the volunteer team.

Maggie also sells the bunting at craft fairs and coffee mornings and would be delighted to hear from anybody who would like her to attend their event.

“It’s been a hobby for some time but of course during lockdown last winter I didn’t have anything else to do so I decided I should do something productive with my time,” she said.

“I love collecting different and unusual fabrics and making bunting is a really good way to make use of all the leftovers.

“I can get something like 12 flags out of a 2.5 metre piece of fabric and I have so many designs now, all made from cotton prints and in really pretty colours.”

And for those really tiny material scraps Maggie has come up with a series of dress up dolls that again, are available from the St Luke’s shops in Nether Edge. Ecclesall Road and Broomhill.
