SOUTH Yorkshire anglers are aiming for a special big catch as they prepare to support our patient care.
Popular fishing spot Lowfield Lakes at Bolton-Upon-Dearne will be the location for the fundraising event on August 2.
And this year organisers of the popular annual contest have decided that proceeds should go to St Luke’s as a tribute to fisherman Sean Sheldon’s mum Ann.
“Mum was a patient at St Luke’s for a couple of months last year and we can’t thank them enough for what they did for her - they were absolutely brilliant,” said Sean.
“We weren’t sure the match would be able to go ahead because of Coronavirus but everything has been done to make it as safe as possible for everybody there.
“It isn’t about winning, it’s about taking part, having a good day and supporting a good cause.”
