Biz Kids go to top of the class with their fundraising challenge

04 March 2019

SHEFFIELD’S young entrepreneurs of the future have raised more than £22,000 for our patient after taking on the 2019 Biz Kids Challenge!

Biz Kids is the unique opportunity for city primary schools and businesses to work together in support of St Luke’s.

The schools are teamed up with businesses which each loan £100 to the challenge as the young Dragon’s Den stars of the next generation set about making that money grow – with the proceeds going to our services.

And this year’s competition was the most successful date, with the 13 schools taking part raising a final total in excess of £22,000.

A special Judging Day was at Clifford House, where children also enjoyed a tour around the facilities, learning about the direct impact their fundraising will have on supporting people who are affected by illnesses with no cure.

The school which raised the most and was named the Biz Kids Champion was St Marie’s Primary School, with a final total of £4,097.48.

The award for the team who delivered the best presentation on Judging Day was awarded to Windmill Hill Primary School.

“This year’s Biz Kids astonished us with the range of ideas they came up with,” said our Community Fundraising Assistant Zoe Manders, who worked closely with the schools throughout the challenge.

“This was the most successful Biz Kids campaign to date and we looked forward to seeing even more schools taking part in 2020.”
