Coffee, cake and the chance to talk about the hardest subject

04 February 2019

IT’S one of the conversations that people never want to have…but add tea, coffee and cake and even the toughest subject becomes that little bit easier.

We are  hosting a series of Death Cafés at Clifford House, running from 6pm to 7.30pm on 20 February, 10 April, 17 July and 23 October 2019 - all free of charge and open to absolutely everybody.

The first Death Café was held in London in 2011 and since then more than 5,800 Death Cafés have been held in 52 countries around the world.

The aim of a Death Café is to break down the taboos around discussing death, in order to help people make the most of their lives.

It provides an opportunity for people of all ages and backgrounds can gather to eat cake, drink tea and talk about death.

The Café will be facilitated by volunteers, with the conversation led by its participants - meaning there is no agenda, no objectives or foregone conclusions, working more as a discussion group, rather than a grief or counselling session.
