YOUNG entrepreneurs from Tinsley Meadows Primary Academy have gone to the top of the class after being named Biz Kids Champions 2018.
Biz Kids is a unique opportunity for city primary schools and businesses to work together in support of St Luke’s.
The schools are teamed up with businesses which loan £100 as a seed fund and also provide mentoring and expertise as the young Dragon’s Den stars of the next generation set about making that money grow – with the proceeds going to our patient care.
And the Tinsley children proved they had what it takes to succeed in business as they raised a final total of more than £2,000.
Among their successful fundraising initiatives were a Splat the Teacher event and a Batak activity wall – and their efforts also gave them the chance to develop their knowledge of spreadsheets as they tracked their efforts and saw their money grow.
The Judges, made up of members of the Sheffield business community, also gave a special Biz Kids Enterprise Award to Pye Bank Primary School, in recognition of their presentation to the panel.
“Every year we are amazed afresh at the imaginative ways that our Biz Kids find to make money for our patient care,” said our Fundraising Manager Megan Senior.
“All the schools that took part this time had enormous fun and at the same time knew that were doing something very important for St Luke’s.”
