NEWLYWEDS Maria and Michael Taylor had a very special gift on their big day…but it wasn’t for them!
Instead, they asked guests at the Dronfield Hall Barn wedding celebration to make a donation to St Luke’s, raising more than £600.
The groom’s brother and Best Man, Roger Taylor, had personal experience of the standard of our services as his partner Sharon was a patient as she battled with the final stages of cancer.
And to make sure that Sharon would be remembered on their special day, Maria and Michael insisted that her picture be present at the wedding ceremony, with donations in her memory then going to our patient care.
“Sharon is sadly missed and on such an important occasion it was good to be able to feel her presence on the day,” said Maria.
“We are so happy that we feel we included her in our celebrations by raising money for St Luke's.
