A TEAM of intrepid cyclists are aiming to raise at least £18,000 for St Luke’s as they take to the hills in memory of good friend Melloney Hogg.
Mel’s Miles is the cycle challenge that will head out into the Peak District on September 15 and 16, talking in such familiar landmarks as Monsal Hill, Holme Moss, Chatsworth, Bakewell, Buxton, Matlock, the Cat and Fiddle, Bradfield Hill and Jawbone Hill – 150 miles of punishing hilly terrain.
And every mile they compete will be raising money for our services as 41-year-old Melloney was a patient in 2015.
Last year’s debut event raised £18,000 so organisers are hoping to do even better in 2017.
A finish line party will be held at Niagara Conference and Leisure Centre in Sheffield on Saturday September 16 from 7pm.
Tickets cost £10 for adults - with children going free - and are available by emailing: [email protected] or calling 07946 148188.
