SOME people give up chocolate or booze for Lent…but Sam Warsop decided she was giving up fashion.
Every day throughout the 40 day period the Regional Magazine Company sales rep donated one item of clothing from her wardrobe to our shops.
“I realised that for Lent to mean anything I had to give up something that meant a lot to me and fashion is always something I have been interested in,” she said.
“And as I’m also a St Luke’s supporter I decided that, at the same time as thinning out my wardrobe, I’d give all the unwanted items to the hospice as I’m sure they’ll be able to sell them through their shops.
“Having started, I quickly realised that it was forcing me to look at everything and make some real choices about what I no longer want or need so it was doing me good at the same time as helping St Luke’s.”
St Luke’s Area Retail Manager Chris Quinlan commented: “We can’t thank Sam enough for this incredible donation.
“Her donation really will make a massive difference to the lives of St Luke’s patients and their families.”
