THE best way to negotiate Sheffield’s notoriously heavy traffic? Get yourself a St Luke’s branded vehicle!
Our Community Nursing team have discovered that fellow motorists can be extremely supportive and generous with their space when they see the distinctive St Luke’s logo out on the road.
The branded Honda CR-V, four wheel drive is the special gift to the hospice from Honda Sheffield, part of The Gilder Group.
It is being used primarily by our Community Nursing Team, enabling nurses and care workers to carry out vital home visits and essential community care work.
“The car has been used daily by the rapid response team and is proving a vital part of the work we do across Sheffield,” said our Head of Community Nursing Jo Lenton.
“It is good to have such a physical presence out across the city so the general public are aware we do a lot of our work in the community and not just at the hospice itself.
“In the recent snow it proved invaluable in keeping us on the road and ensuring that all our patients were seen at the time they expected.
“And our nurses do feel also they get let out of junctions quickly because of the name on the side of the car!”
