Abbeydale Golf Club has raised an extraordinary £41,182 for St Luke’s following a year of dedicated fundraising throughout 2025.
The impressive total was achieved thanks to the dedication and leadership of the Club’s 2025 Captain and Lady Captain, Mark Rendall and Sally Colver, who selected St Luke’s as their Charity of the Year.
Across the year, Mark and Sally led a varied programme of fundraising events - including a Golf Day, Race Night and Supper Club – all of which were enthusiastically supported by Abbeydale’s members, who donated prizes, took part and gave generously.
Their efforts were further boosted by an incredible £10,000 matched donation from The May Hearnshaw Trust, helping the fundraising to reach its remarkable final total.
Reflecting on their year of fundraising, Mark and Sally expressed their appreciation for the support they received along the way:
“The reception that we received from members of Abbeydale Golf Club when we announced St Luke’s Hospice as the Captains’ charity for our year at the start of 2025 was immensely encouraging,” they reflected.
“We had amazing support for all the various events run through the year, and we were bowled over by our members’ generosity towards raising over £40,000.”
Praising the pair’s commitment and the generosity of the Abbeydale Golf Club community, is St Luke’s Community & Events Fundraising Manager, Katie Fielding.
“We cannot thank Mark, Sally and everyone at Abbeydale Golf Club enough for their commitment, energy and kindness.”
“Their remarkable fundraising efforts will help St Luke’s continue providing vital care for families across Sheffield when they need us most.”
