Local music
fans are in for a treat this New Year as noughties Sheffield rock band
“Dangerlust” are reuniting for one-time-only fundraising gig in support of St
Luke’s Hospice.
The event will
take place at The Greystones, Sheffield, on Saturday 3 January 2026, with doors
opening at 7:30pm and the show starting at 8pm.
Dangerlust
features three former members of Floater UK, a band that was a mainstay of the
Sheffield music scene at the turn of the millennium, including St Luke’s Chief
Operating Officer and Director of Finance, Tony Saunders, on bass, and Tony’s
wife Rachel on lead vocals.
The band
decided to reunite after twenty years for a one-off gig, as a farewell hurrah
to band member Mikey on guitar, before he emigrates to America in February. And
what better time to turn the gig into a fundraising event in support of St
Luke’s, as the hospice celebrates 55 years of care in 2026.
The band,
whose sound is described by NME as “female-fronted dirty rock music with
perfect pop choruses”, are now reunited and ready to rock, all for a great
cause.
Band member,
Tony Saunders said: “We are extremely excited to be back on stage, performing
some of our favourite songs. It’s all about having a bit of fun and raising
money for one of Sheffield’s most loved charities.”
“This promises
to be a fun night to not only raise money, but also bring back memories of
those brilliant local band nights 25 years ago. If you were in a local band
around that time, please come and join us to meet old friends, have a catch up
and raise money for a great local charity.”
Matt Sheridan,
Senior Fundraising Manager at St Luke’s added: “We are so excited that
Dangerlust have chosen to dedicate their reunion event to St Luke’s and raise
funds for the hospice during our special year.”
“This special
event comes as St Luke’s celebrates its 55th anniversary in 2026, marking over
five decades of providing expert palliative care and support to people across
Sheffield. Every ticket sold will help fund vital services for patients and
their families during some of life’s most challenging times.”
