Christmas has come early for our Facilities and Maintenance team, thanks to an incredible donation from local business Newsome Tools.
Managing Director Martin Newsome visited the hospice to deliver over £2,500 worth of brand-new tools and equipment, helping the team continue their vital work in maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for patients and their families.
Newsome Tools, based on Harleston Street in Sheffield, has been supplying quality hand tools and consumables to retailers across the UK for over 50 years. Proud of its family-based and community values, the company wanted to give back to a cause close to home.
Martin said: “We at Newsome Tools are proud to support our local hospice with this donation. The hospice sector is facing a great deal of financial pressure, and by donating these products we hope to save the organisation money that can be directed to patient care, while ensuring the hospice is maintained to its usual high standard.”
Matt Sheridan, Senior Fundraising Manager at St Luke’s, added: “We are so grateful for the support of Martin and his team for this incredible donation of quality tools and products. These will go a long way in helping us maintain our beautiful hospice."
"Newsome Tools have also supported us by sending digital Christmas cards this year and donating what they would usually spend on cards and postage. We really appreciate their ongoing support and hope the Sheffield business community will follow in Martin’s footsteps to get behind St Luke’s this Christmas.”
The donation comes at a crucial time as St Luke’s launches its Christmas Dinner Appeal, which helps ensure patients and their loved ones can share a special festive meal together, even during the most difficult times.
