At the end of October, 38 colleagues from Gripple joined St Luke’s Hospice to volunteer their time in support of our shops - donating an incredible 228 hours between them!
Team members joined from across the globe, with some travelling from as far as France, Spain, Canada and Texas to lend a hand at our Donation Centre, St Luke’s Kilner Way shop, and Crookes store.
Together, they helped sort through more than 1,200 bags of donated stock, and volunteered an incredible 228 hours, making a huge difference in helping us turn pre-loved items into vital funds for hospice care.
Gripple are long-standing supporters of St Luke’s, having raised over £70,000 through a wide range of fundraising initiatives. Their graduate programme, for examples, challenges new team members to raise money for local charities, including St Luke’s. We’re also proud to have Hugh Facey OBE, founder of Gripple, and Frances Facey as Principal Patrons of our charity.
Fran Bradshaw, St Luke’s Head of Volunteering said: “We are so grateful to Gripple for their fantastic and continued support of St Luke’s.”
“It’s been a brilliant opportunity for their global team to learn more about hospice care and the vital role fundraising and volunteering play in sustaining our services.”
