Friends of Sheffield man Jim Blackburn raised more than £5,000 for our patient services when they teamed up to take part in the Sheffield Half Marathon.
Fitness enthusiast Jim was a patient at St Luke’s when he finally lost his battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
“Jim was very fit, active and loved a race, so would love that we honoured him by taking part in the Sheffield Half Marathon,” said team organiser Alex Charlesworth.
“He was one of the most kind, caring and loved guy I’ve had the pleasure of knowing.
“Anyone who knew him would always say how he lit up any room with his wonderful personality and humour.
“We miss him every day but being able to honour him by raising money for incredible charities, makes us all so proud and we will continue to do so.”
