THERE will be double the reason for friends of Eric and Margaret Anderson to complete the 2018 Night Strider.
For the October 6 fundraiser falls on what would have been both Margaret’s birthday and the Nether Edge couple’s wedding anniversary.
And to commemorate both those special days and to raise at least £1,000 for St Luke’s a group of 11 friends, headed by Deborah Coupe, has signed up to take part in the popular annual fundraising event.
“Eric died in St Luke’s and then, just five weeks later, Margaret died as well and that’s when we decided we had to do something in their memory,” says Deborah.
“We’re a mixed group so we have decided to take part in the 10k rather than the half marathon but our intention is to raise at least £1,000 if we can – and we might even be able to persuade a few more people to join us in the challenge.
“The fact that October 6 was such a special date for Margaret and Eric makes us even more determined to make it an evening to remember.”
