Dying to TALK

All of us will be touched by death, dying and bereavement at some stage during our lives. Thinking about what our wishes might be at the end of life and sharing them with our family and friends is something that we should all consider doing. It’s a conversation that none of us wants to have and it can be hard knowing where to start, but talking about death doesn’t have to be “the big elephant in the room”.

By planning ahead and communicating our wishes it can help us to make the most of life and make things a little easier for those left behind. To support and encourage people to talk more openly about death and dying we’ve developed a short film entitled Dying to TALK.

The film was created by Sheffield animator Laura Newbould-Jones (founder of Creative Metaphor) and shares the thoughts and experiences of singer and songwriter Richard Hawley whose father was a patient at St Luke’s.
