Kate came to Sheffield to study
for her PhD in Cancer Research. Following several years undertaking research at
Sheffield University Medical School and the birth of her two children, she
changed career to train to become a Chartered Accountant with KPMG. She is a
Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Kate has worked as an Accountant in a range of private sector, not for profit and charitable
organisations and is currently Director of Finance and Resources for Real Life
Options: a national social care Charity.
Kate’s non-executive roles
include being a Trustee of two academy Trusts, Sheffield Industrial Museum
Trust, and the Sheffield BID. She is currently a director and past president of
the Sheffield & District Society of Chartered Accountants. She was appointed
a Trustee for Parkinson's UK in October 2023.
