THIS team of enthusiastic fundraisers put their best feet forward and gave a major boost to our patient care as they tackled the famous Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.
The 25 mile route includes 1,500m of ascent and descent for walkers who scale Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-ghent - the highest peaks in Yorkshire - in less than 12 hours.
Our walkers - Jill Ball, Julia Walsh, John Walsh, Michael Walsh, Matt Walsh, Gemma Walsh, Rosemary Hill, Julia Guest and Stephen Potter - undertook the challenge in memory of loved ones, managing to complete the route in 11 hours and 25 minutes.
And up to now, their hard work has raised a fantastic £3,508, with more money still to come in.
“The sun was bright but there was a light breeze that managed to keep all our walkers cool throughout the day to finish in great time,” said our Project and Events Coordinator Rachel Spofforth.
“Together they have raised a fantastic amount of money that really will make an enormous difference to the lives of all St Luke’s patients and their families.”
