City music stars join the Sheffield Wednesday Charity Cup

02 March 2020

TWO of the most popular names in the Sheffield music scene are taking on the stars of sport as St Luke’s prepares for the Sheffield Wednesday Charity Cup contest.

Sheffield music favourites Jon McClure, the lead singer of Reverend and the Makers, and Joe Carnall, of Milburn, have both signed up as captains to take part in the sporting challenge that raises money for St Luke's and the Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme.

And they will be joined on the pitch by another Sheffield music star and keen St Luke’s supporter, singer Paul Pashley.

Kicking off on Saturday March 28, two Sheffield Wednesday teams – both home and away sides - will battle it out to win the prestigious Charity Cup.

The game is open to the public and free to attend – with other attractions for the afternoon including a raffle and snack stall for supporters.

“This is always a great occasion for any real Owls fan and our special guest stars make it even more exciting,” said our Corporate Fundraising Manager Jack Kidder.

“It’s a wonderful atmosphere and a fantastic event for all the family so please do come along and give us your support.”
