A quartet of St Luke’s runners raised £7,000 when they took to the streets of the capital for the 2019 Virgin Money London Marathon.
Matt Wainwright, Lucy Mattocks, Vikki Cleveland and Jane Fensome were all running in memory of loved ones who had been St Luke’s patients.
Matt added to his total when his employers Swann Morton and colleagues supported him with a raffle and a corporate donation.
And his nephew George, niece Phoebe and their friends Andrew and Ellie raised a further £155 by completing their own walking marathon over a month.
“We are delighted that our own fantastic four managed to raise so much money for us,” said St Luke’s Community Fundraising Manager Megan Senior.
“And the fact that Matt then made it even more of a family event simply makes it so much the better.
