St Luke’s was overwhelmed by the amazing £22,540 raised by the
Henry Boot Group of Companies in their charity partnership. From taking on a wold walk and race night through to holding a mega raffle and dress down day, they pulled out all the stops to support local people dealing with a terminal illness and their families.
After taking part in the Master Cutler’s Challenge 2016, of which St Luke’s was a benefactor, Henry Boot decided to make Sheffield’s only hospice their charity of the year for 2017. They formed an internal committee to spearhead their fundraising efforts. Their full and varied calendar of events showed they have a thing for good food and fun in the office as they also hosted a Summer BBQ and organised Bake Off to raise some dough.
“We have developed a great relationship with the St Luke’s team and hope to continue to develop this in future years“, said Amy Oakley, who leads the committee. “They really got involved in helping me and the committee to organise last year’s events, and were always keen to support us whenever possible. I am so proud to have been part of the team that raised such an incredible sum to support their work.”
Jack Kidder, Corporate Fundraising Manager at St Luke’s, said; “we are so grateful to everyone at Henry Boot for the amazing support they have given to St Luke’s. We have been impressed by their dedication, commitment and passion for supporting our vital work caring for adults with a terminal illness and their loved ones in Sheffield.
“The Henry Boot team developed and delivered an exciting range of fundraising events and opportunities and everyone here at St Luke’s is very grateful for the impact they have had on our work. We need to raise £6.3 million this year so every penny really counts. When a company raises such a large amount for us, we can’t thank them enough. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Henry Boot for many years to come."
