Step out on the Three Peaks Challenge

20 February 2017

SHEFFIELD Wednesday striker Sam Winnall is urging fans to sign up for one of the year’s toughest walking challenges and support both St Luke's and the Sheffield Wednesday Community Foundation.

The May 20 Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge will raise money both for us and for the Sheffield Wednesday Community Foundation.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, a 24 mile route that includes 5,200ft (1,585m) of ascent and which should be completed in just 12 hours.

Participants will need to pay a deposit of £30 and then guarantee to raise a further £300 each.

“We want Sheffield Wednesday fans to challenge themselves to walking 24 miles over the three peaks of Yorkshire,” said Sam.

“It’s not an easy day but you will know that every step you take will be making a massive difference to the lives of St Luke’s patients and the organisations supported by the Sheffield Wednesday Community Foundation.”
