THE team from construction and civil engineering contractors Winvic raised more than £1,200 for our patient care when they hit the heights and completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.
The 25 mile route includes 1,500m of ascent and descent for walkers who scale, Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-ghent - the highest peaks in Yorkshire - in less than 12 hours.
And by the time they reached the finish line, the Winvic team had given a major boost to our services.
“Winvic are always keen to support the local communities in which we work,” said Winvic Construction Social Value Manager Emma Rhymes.
“We reached out to see what we could provide to local charity, St Luke’s Hospice and fundraising via their Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge was selected.
“I have to admit it was a challenge but in my eyes the huge effort we put in on the hills that day, is only a snippet of the continuous effort that staff and volunteers at St Luke's Hospice deliver on a daily basis to so many in their care.
“We look forward to seeing how we can continue to support St Luke’s throughout our Sheffield Sylvester Street project.”
Our Fundraising Account Manager Anna Gott added: “We are delighted that Winvic chose to support us.
“They did a fantastic job on the day and the money they raised really will make a massive difference to the lives of our patients and their families.”
The next St Luke’s Three Peaks Challenge will be help on June 10 2023.
