MEET the volunteers who have given a total of more than 2,369 years of their time to supporting St Luke’s.
A total of 270 long-serving volunteers received their certificate and badge this year, with 130 attending our long service awards ceremony at Sheffield venue OEC, where they were thanked by our President Lady Neill and Chairman of Trustees Neil MacDonald OBE.
The event, part of our 50th anniversary celebrations, also marked the climax of National Volunteers’ Week.
And there were special congratulations for volunteers Helen Bacon and Alison Holman, both of whom have now completed 50 years volunteering with St Luke’s.
“In so many areas of St Luke’s life, volunteers provide the vital support that keeps our services in operation 365 days a year,” said our Volunteer Development Manager Fran Bradshaw.
“These wonderful long-serving volunteers, of course, represent just a small part of our volunteer force, which now stands at almost 700 and represents people of all ages and from every walk of life, all of whom simply want to give time to supporting a charity that affects so many lives.
“We thank them all for their dedication and their enthusiasm and look forward to welcoming many more to the team over the next 50 years!”
