Gary’s goodbye to lockdown hair raises £400

11 August 2021

IT’S goodbye lockdown and goodbye lockdown hair too for St Luke’s supporter Gary Thompson.

Gary, who lives in Walkley, raises money for our patient care by hosting a staff tuck shop at Porsche Meadowhall, where he is a car valeter.

But with lockdown restrictions easing, Gary decided to give his fundraising a boost by getting rid of several months growth of hair.

And with barber friend Steve on hand, the job was very quickly done, bringing Gary’s fundraising efforts up to £400.

“I like to support local charities so my barber came down and got to work with his clippers," said Gary.

“Some people have said it’s taken 10 years off me, though whether that’s true or not I don’t know.”
