Curtain rises on a new Splinters fundraiser for hospice

THE curtain is rising on a new £1,000 partnership between Splinters Theatre Company and St Luke’s.

The Sheffield youth theatre company raised more than £700 for our patient care throughout 2016.

And now, as they prepare for a revival of Broadway classic West Side Story at the Montgomery Theatre in September, the cast and crew have decided to extend their support for our services for a further year.

“St Luke’s is a charity that is quite close to a number of our members, so we decided to stay with them for another year,” said Splinters representative Louise Grayson.

“But this year we're doing something a little different because we want to give ourselves a specific target.

“Knowing what we raised in the past 12 months, this year we are going to try and push ourselves that little bit more and try and reach £1,000 for St Luke's.”

As well as encouraging audiences to support St Luke’s, the team also have a number of special fundraising events lined up, including putting a team together for our popular Night Strider challenge in October.

“We are delighted that such a talented and enthusiastic group of people are extending their support for us,” said our Fundraising Assistant Noni Bryson.

“We look forward to seeing their next show and also to seeing them taking part in St Luke’s fundraising activities.”
