St Luke’s is Sheffield’s Hospice, with a vision to support and care for everyone affected by terminal illness in Sheffield. We are a community organisation which means that everything we do is focused on helping people in their own communities as well as at our Little Common Lane site and our new, adjoining site at Clifford House on Ecclesall Road South. Our shops are all based in the heart of communities across the city, as are our amazing volunteers and we couldn’t do what we do without them.

The Crookes Shop

The Crookes shop has two sides, one which houses furniture and bric a brac, so anyone with an interest in interior design, helping us mend or restore furniture would enjoy this role. The roles here also include using our tills, chatting to customers and may involve moving large, heavy items.

Our main Crookes shop sells a variety of interesting items, our volunteers help us to meet and serve customers on the tills, accept donations and keep the shop floor fully stocked.

If you prefer a non-customer facing role, our Crookes Stockroom is the engine room of our store, all our fantastic donations which come into the Crookes shop on a daily basis are sorted, tagged, steamed and processed ready to be sold. We receive everything from clothing and books to toys and antiques! There are many different roles available as well as sorting, such as helping us to sort accessories, jewellery, books, and collectible items for our vintage and eBay shops. We also house our electrical section in our stockroom, where PAT testing is carried out, full training will be provided on all roles.
