St Luke’s Summer Fayre returns – now open to the public for 2026
St Luke’s Summer Fayre is set to return on Saturday 5 September 2026 – and for the first time, the much-loved event will be open to the public, as we celebrate our 55th anniversary.
Taking place in the beautiful grounds of our Ecclesall Road South site from 11am to 3pm, the Fayre promises a fantastic day out for all the family.
Visitors can enjoy a wide range of stalls and shopping, live entertainment, hot drinks and picnic boxes, as well as plenty of activities for all ages. Well-behaved four-legged friends are also welcome at this dog-friendly event.
Throughout the day, the St Luke’s team will also be offering optional guided Walking Wellbeing Tours around the hospice gardens. The tours are free to attend, with an optional donation on the day.
The event itself is free, with donations warmly welcomed. Every penny raised on the day helps fund our specialist care.
Staff will also be on hand for anyone who would like to learn more about our care and services. The Fayre offers a relaxed, welcoming opportunity to have informal conversations and find out how we can support you or someone you know.
Jill Aeppli, St Luke’s Activities Manager, said: “Following the success of our 2025 Summer Fayre, which gave patients and service users the chance to invite their families to see what happens at our Ecclesall Road South site, we’re delighted to open the event to the wider community as part of our 55th anniversary celebrations.”
“We’re really looking forward to bringing people together – to raise awareness of our services while enjoying a relaxed, welcoming day with something for everyone.”
“There’ll be local shopping stalls, including a St Luke’s retail stall, live entertainment from the St Luke’s Singing Group, food and drink, and activities for children and families – including a firm favourite, our dog show.”
Visitors are asked to note that the main car park will be closed. Public transport and nearby on-street parking are recommended. Blue Badge holders can park in the main staff car park at the St Luke’s Hospice site on Little Common Lane.

St Luke's Summer Fayre 2025
55 years of care
As we mark our 55th year, we’re choosing to speak more openly and confidently about the importance of hospice care - what it really is, why it matters, and the difference it makes to families every single day.
For 55 years, St Luke’s has been part of Sheffield’s story. We’ve supported thousands of people through some of the most difficult moments of their lives, offering expert care that brings comfort, dignity and choice when it matters most.
This anniversary isn’t about looking back. It’s about making sure this care is still here for the next generation.
