Celebrating Pride with our message of inclusion and care for Sheffield

We were delighted to be back at Kelham Island for Sheffield Pride on Saturday 20 June, sharing our message of inclusivity, compassion and support for communities across the city.

As we mark 55 years of caring for Sheffield, the St Luke's team were proud to stand alongside people from all walks of life, celebrating diversity and championing care for everyone who needs it.

We had a vibrant presence at the event, with two stalls – one offering a selection of clothing and accessories from our retail shops in eye-catching Pride colours, and another providing information about our specialist care and support available to people living with terminal illness across Sheffield.

“We are delighted to bring a splash of St Luke’s pink to Kelham Island for Pride,” said St Luke’s People Lead, Debbie Woodruffe.

“For 55 years, St Luke’s has been caring for Sheffield, and it’s very important to us that we reach out to all our communities and share our message of inclusivity and support for all.”

The pop-up retail stall proved a particular hit, raising over £740 on the day towards our patient care.

“Thank you so much to Kelham Pride for having us, and to everyone who stopped by to shop and find out more about the services we provide,” added Debbie. “We can’t wait to join the party again next year!”

55 years of care

As we mark our 55th year, we’re choosing to speak more openly and confidently about the importance of hospice care - what it really is, why it matters, and the difference it makes to families every single day.

For 55 years, St Luke’s has been part of Sheffield’s story. We’ve supported thousands of people through some of the most difficult moments of their lives, offering expert care that brings comfort, dignity and choice when it matters most.

This anniversary isn’t about looking back. It’s about making sure this care is still here for the next generation.
