Fundraise for St Luke’s – Sheffield’s Hospice
Would you like to fundraise for St Luke’s? Every penny you raise helps us keep our promise that no one in Sheffield faces terminal illness alone, providing the care, comfort and dignity people depend on at the end of life.
Together, we can care for Sheffield
At St Luke's, we look after anyone affected by a terminal illness across Sheffield, at any stage of their journey, and their loved ones too.
Patients are cared for in the place that best suits their needs – most often in their own homes, where they feel most comfortable. There, they can receive support, pain relief, and in some cases, help to die at home, if that’s what they want. For others, 24-hour intensive palliative care is given on our In Patient Centre to help with pain and symptom management. Alongside clinical care, patients can access non-medical support through our Social Prescribing services.
Everything we do is made possible by over 300 members of staff, a team of more than 1,000 volunteers, and the generosity of the people of Sheffield. Just 23% of our running costs are covered by NHS funding, meaning St Luke's has to raise over £11 million to continue providing our services across Sheffield.

Fundraise at work
There are plenty of exciting opportunities for employees to support St Luke’s Hospice fundraising. Your team can join us at events, host a Coffee Morning, plan their own challenges and much more! Whatever you choose, we’re here to help you make it a success.
Workplace hospice fundraising is a great way to build staff morale and get employees working together across the company. You can join any of St Luke’s upcoming events as a team, or organise your own.
Your hospice fundraisers could be simple, such as a dress-down day, or more ambitious, such as a hike or skydive. Our team can help you plan a fundraising calendar that aligns with your goals, team sizes and schedule.
At St Luke’s, we welcome corporate volunteer groups to support our shops, fundraising events and collections. A day of volunteering encourages employees to use their skills, try new experiences outside the usual workplace, and build team spirit while giving back to the community.
We rely on the help of our volunteers, and we’re always on the lookout for more. There are lots of ways to get involved, with opportunities to suit different skills and group sizes and no long-term commitment required. Every hour you give helps us continue caring for patients living with terminal illness and their families.
Our Pound on the Bill scheme is a simple yet effective way to involve your teams in hospice fundraising. By adding £1 to customer bills or invoices, your business can turn everyday transactions into regular funds for St Luke’s.
We can brief your staff about what we do and how we support the Sheffield community. That way, they’ll feel confident talking to customers about the scheme and how your business is fundraising for St Luke’s.
Another great option for businesses to support us is by donating goods or services, which can be used as raffle or auction prizes at one of St Luke’s Hospice fundraisers. It can also be tax-efficient, as companies can usually claim tax relief on charitable donations.
We hold a wide range of well-attended events throughout the year. These offer valuable sponsorship opportunities for businesses that wish to support local hospice fundraising while enhancing their reputation in Sheffield. By sponsoring an event, you show visible support for St Luke’s and the people we care for.
Alongside fundraising activities your employees can get involved in, businesses can support St Luke’s through matched funding (where the business makes a contribution that matches the money raised by employees) or Payroll Giving (where employees donate regularly from their gross salary, with immediate tax relief).
Choose St Luke’s as your Charity of the Year and place your company at the heart of the Sheffield community. We’ll help you plan hospice fundraising activities, engage your staff and share the impact of your support. We work with businesses of all sizes and industries, and we would be proud to become your charity partner.
