Minnie’s Fest raises £2,335

Sheffield musicians have helped raise more than £2,300 for St Luke’s as Minnie’s Fest returned to Stannington in July this year.

The popular annual music festival, which has become a highlight in Stannington’s local calendar, was held at The Rose and Crown pub, known locally as Minnie’s.

Organised by Pub Landlord, Tom Mosley, and his dad, Mick, Minnie’s Fest has been running since 2015, missing only one year in that time due to Covid.

When deciding on a name for their festival, Tom and Mick wanted to incorporate the foundations of the pub and settled on “Minnie’s Fest” – after the pub’s first ever owner.

The day sees many local musicians performing throughout the day, including St Luke’s very own Counsellor, Paul Clarke, who took to the stage with his guitar.

Mick & Tom decided to start supporting St Luke’s through the event in 2023 and this is the fourth year that St Luke’s have received donations from the event.

This year the event raised £2,335 through fundraising on the day including raffles and a tombola, as well as donations from local businesses. Over the years, they have now raised over £9,200 for St Luke’s.

“We are so grateful for the continued support from Minnie’s Fest and the Stannington community,” said our Community Fundraiser, Olivia Yates.

“And the fantastic total raised on the day really will make an enormous difference to the lives of all our patients and families.

“This year’s event was bigger and better than ever, and we already can’t wait to see what Tom and Mick have planned for next year.”
