Suvira has been a consultant geriatrician at the Northern General Hospital since 2005, where she has led the development of orthogeriatric and major trauma geriatric pathways through the hospital and into the community.
During the pandemic, she has published papers on the impact of Covid in hip fracture patients. She has written a book chapter on Understanding Patient Experience as a clinical leader in Medical Leadership textbook. She has worked with the Picker Institute in developing models for processing patient experience information in the NHS. She was awarded the MSc Medical Leadership Prize by Sheffield Hallam University. Her community inpatient rehabilitation unit was rated outstanding for responsive by CQC.
She is a mother to two adult sons and enjoys growing veggies, trekking, walking her dog and taking part with her team in their ward’s charitable events.
