St Luke’s Donation Centre Volunteer Work
Our Donation Centre is the hub for all pre-loved items donated to St Luke’s. It’s where we sort, prepare and organise donations for distribution to our charity shops and eTrading store. There, items will be sold to the public to help us raise as much as possible for patient care. Volunteers see how everything comes together behind the scenes, making it a fulfilling and enjoyable way to support our work.
Sorting Assistant (Age 18+)
Process donations for distribution to our retail shops across Sheffield. You’ll unpack deliveries, check their condition and look out for valuable or collectable items for eTrading. This is a varied role, and we also welcome volunteers who’d like to focus on specialist areas such as bric-a-brac, antiques, collectables, or vintage pieces.
Warehouse Assistant (Age 18+)
As a Volunteer Warehouse Assistant, you’ll arrange donated items into cages so they can be sorted and graded by our sorting team. You’ll help keep operations running smoothly, ensuring sorters have stock at their stations, transporting goods safely around the warehouse, and organising sorted items ready to be picked and sent to our shops.
Donation Door Assistant (Age 18+)
Greet donors and receive their gifts with warmth and appreciation. In this hands-on role, you’ll accept pre-loved items, explain Gift Aid and support with lifting or moving donations where needed. It’s a hugely rewarding role, knowing you’re making every donor feel valued and ensuring their donations are handled with care.
