A total of 146 Team St Luke’s runners laced up to raise an incredible £27,300 at this year’s Jane Tomlinson Run for All Sheffield 10K and Mini and Junior Runs.

A team of 120 runners took on the Sheffield 10K on Sunday 27 September, raising £24,000 in support of St Luke’s, while young supporters taking part in the Mini and Junior Runs added a further £3,300 to the fundraising total.

Each year, the Sheffield 10K draws thousands of runners of all abilities and enthusiastic spectators to Sheffield’s streets.

As Sheffield’s biggest event of its kind and a highlight of Yorkshire’s running calendar, we are a proud charity partner each year.

Whether chasing personal bests or taking on their first 10K challenge, each runner made every step count for St Luke’s.

St Luke's Community Fundraiser, Olivia Yates, was among the charity team cheering runners on throughout the event.

“I was incredibly proud to support our amazing Sheffield 10K runners this year,” said Olivia. “Together, they have raised an outstanding amount for St Luke’s, and we are so grateful for their dedication.

“Every one of our runners had their own reason for taking part, whether in memory of a loved one, to say thank you for care received, or simply to support local hospice care. Seeing so many people come together for St Luke's was incredibly moving."

Taking place on the same day, the Sheffield Mini and Junior Runs challenged children aged three to 14 to complete 1.5km and 2.5km courses.

This was the first year we offered charity places for the Mini and Junior Runs, with 26 incredible young fundraisers taking part for St Luke's.

“It was also fantastic to see so many young people getting involved and feeling inspired to take on their own challenge in support of a charity close to their hearts,” continued Olivia.

"All of our runners should be enormously proud of the difference they are making. Every pound helps St Luke’s continue to provide compassionate care and support to local people and their families when they need it most.”

The success of the day was also made possible by a team of dedicated volunteers, who cheered runners along the route, captured action shots and helped create a fantastic atmosphere from start to finish.
