St Luke’s, Sheffield’s only adult hospice, has proudly served our community since 1971. Since then, we’ve cared for thousands of local people and their families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
Each year, only a small portion of our running costs is covered by NHS funding. Taking part in prize draws for charities, such as our lottery, helps raise vital funds for St Luke’s so we can continue providing care for patients with terminal illness, now and in the future.
For a small monthly payment, you can make a real difference:
Tailored food packages for patients at home who can no longer cook safely
The opportunity for patients to record their life stories for loved ones to treasure after they’re gone
Bereavement support for a family who has recently lost a loved one
Visits from specialist palliative nurses providing compassionate end of life care at home
Support from our Community Team, including Rapid Response, so we reach patients when they need us most
Every ticket bought in our lottery or raffle for charity helps provide more care, more comfort, and more dignity for patients and families in Sheffield.
The St Luke’s weekly charity lottery runs every Friday, with 102 guaranteed prizes. Plus, every ticket is automatically entered into the £375 weekly rollover, which increases each week if it isn’t won, giving you the chance to win up to £15,000!
Tickets cost just £1 each. Set up a weekly Direct Debit and receive your unique lottery number. You'll then be entered into every Friday draw. It's as simple as that!

In 2025 it was estimated that £646,596 was raised from ticket sales in our St Luke's Weekly Lotteries and seasonal Draws, with 16.66% spent on prizes, 30.31% on expenses and 52.44% being used to fund the work of St Luke's Hospice. Based on the Lottery Submissions made by St Luke's Hospice to the Gambling Commission, during the 2025 calendar year. The estimated likelihood of winning a prize in the raffle is circa 1 in 4,500 and 1 in 123 for our Weekly Lottery. Players in our weekly lotteries are automatically entered into a weekly Rollover draw in which they could win up to £15,000. The Rollover prize increases by £375 each week it isn't won; in 2024 the likelihood of winning the Rollover prize was, on average, 1 in 626,100. At the point the prize reaches £15,000, one lucky player will be guaranteed to win it that week.
