Medical students have a £1,000 start to year of St Luke's support

SHEFFIELD Medical Society has launched a year of support for our patient care…and has already raised more than £1,000!

Sheffield Medical Society represents more than 2,000 medical students on campus, supporting, helping and encouraging them to achieve their full potential as doctors of the future.

Having just started their campaign on our behalf, the students have already held a fundraising mock exam for second years students a charity football tournament and an evening of live music, raising more than £1,000.

Medical Society President Grace Scaplehorn said: “We are excited for the year ahead to have St. Luke's as our charity of the year.

“We are looking forward to supporting them in their 50th year and hope that our fundraising can help to contribute to their excellent patient care.

“The future doctors of Sheffield chose St. Luke's as a charity they wanted to represent as we see first-hand how vital the work they do is.

“This year we hope to raise money and awareness for St. Luke's and have a lot of fun during the process!”

Our Fundraising Account Manager Matthew Sheridan added: “To have raised £1,000 so quickly really is a great start to a year of support by the Medical Society students.

“We look forward to our partnership developing throughout the coming 12 months.”
