A HEALTHY combination of walking and pedal power helped Scott and Claire Hall compete one of Britain’s toughest challenges…and raised more than £2,000 for St Luke’s.
The couple walked and cycled the entire 135km length of the famous Roman ruin Hadrian’s Wall, starting at Bowness on Solway and ending at Wallsend in Newcastle.
They took up the challenge in memory of Claire’s mum Ellen, who was a patient at St Luke’s at the end of her life.
“St Luke's made a very difficult time in our lives a little easier and we promised ourselves that we would help raise funds for them so that they can continue to offer others the fantastic end of life care that mum received,” said Claire.
“We were so grateful that mum had somewhere peaceful and dignified to end her days but the staff can only provide the quality care they deliver because of the fund raising the centre receives.
“Rest assured that your generosity will help others to end their lives in peace and dignity.”
There’s still time to support Claire and Scott by visiting Hadrian's Wall
