Dementia Carers Workshops
Course description
These workshops aim to equip you with knowledge, skills and the emotional resilience to support you as a dementia carer. Come along and meet other dementia carers and gain peer support. Each interactive workshop will last for 2 hours and will be delivered over a number of weeks.

Legal and money matters
Providing care and support
Coping day to day and next steps
Understanding how dementia progresses
Planning for the later stages of dementia and end of life
Course facilitators
The facilitators who deliver this course come from a multitude of different backgrounds and are therefore well experienced in their individual field to provide the support and knowledge needed for those caring for family/friends with dementia
One of these facilitators is Lynne Ghasemi, who is the Project ECHO Lead Nurse and a Palliative Care Nurse Specialist, having worked in the field of palliative care for St Luke’s Hospice for over 35 years. Lynne has clinically supported care homes for the past 8 years and has developed a special interest in the care of people with dementia. Lynne is a member of the Sheffield Dementia Strategy Implementation Group and has led on writing Commitment 9 of the Sheffield strategy, “to ensure that more people with dementia have access to personalised, good quality palliative and end of life care when they need it”.
Vicki Hoyland a Senior Sister in the St Luke's Hospice Community Team, supporting Care Homes. Vicki has a background of district nursing is also a facilitator for the ECHO dementia programme.
Payment terms
All course fees must be paid prior to attendance. Standard payment terms are 30 days from the date of invoice, or before the start of the course if the course date falls sooner.

Please note that once a booking has been made and payment received, course fees are non-refundable.
