St Luke’s is Sheffield’s Hospice, with a vision to support and care for everyone affected by terminal illness in Sheffield.
Our Wellbeing Team are currently looking for Complimentary Therapist Volunteers who are able to offer 3/4 hrs per week depending on availability between 10.00 am to 3pm to join the team offering relaxation and wellbeing to our clients and patients.
The Complementary Therapist patient centred Volunteer must be a minimum of 18 years old, they will complete a four to six week induction within the Wellbeing department supervised by an assigned member of the Wellbeing team. This induction will include: Completing wellbeing work-book, policies and procedures, assessment from mentor, practical applications of all techniques going to be covered with patients, pro-forma and reflective practice.
The Complementary Therapist Patient centred volunteer should also be able to demonstrate compassion and communicate in a friendly manner. It is important in this role that the individual should be non-judgmental and demonstrate excellent listening skills, whilst being able to take instruction and being aware of the clinical and patient boundaries.
