Develop enterprise skills with Biz Kids
This innovative project teaches children about the power they have to make a positive impact in their local community. They will practice teamwork and communication skills, have the chance to get creative and solve problems, and develop financial literacy whilst having fun too!
How does it work?
Schools are provided with £100 seed fund, then children have two half terms to raise as much as possible. It is a fantastic experience for all involved, allowing students to create their own enterprise project and raise vital funds for St Luke’s.
There are three awards to be won:
- Biz Kids Champion Award - awarded to the school that raises the most amount of money for St Luke’s.
- Biz Kids Enterprise Award - awarded to the school that delivers the best presentation which demonstrates how each key learning objective was met throughout the project.
- Biz Kids Hero Award - awarded to a star pupil from each school that has excelled in the Biz Kids project. They will have demonstrated both fundraising and entrepreneurial skills such as initiative, determination and drive.
Children from every school taking part receive personalised certificates and recognition for their brilliant enterprising fundraising efforts.
New for 2020
There will be new resources to help children learn about their impact in their community and assist the lead teacher in facilitating Biz Kids – including lesson plans, activity sheets and template letters to parents.
How can I get involved?
This is a fantastic opportunity for schools to fulfil curriculum objectives whilst supporting families across Sheffield affected by terminal illness.
