Gift Aid


If you're a UK taxpayer and sign up for Gift Aid, your donations of goods for sale are worth an extra 25% to us when they're sold. You can sign up quickly in any of our shops - signing up is quick and easy, and you only need to do it once.

Our shops raised over £3million towards our patient care costs last year, raising around £70,000 per week!

Last year, over 67,000 people helped us to raise over £225,000 extra income from their donated items by choosing to Gift Aid.*

Gift Aid Eligibility

• You wish St Luke’s to claim tax on all donations you make in the future or have made in the past 4 years

• You are a UK taxpayer and understand that if you pay less Income Tax/Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year it is your responsibility to pay any difference

• You wish St Luke’s to act as your agent in selling the goods you have donated, at a rate of 1% commission + VAT

• You are not acting as a business in bringing goods in for sale to any shops belonging to St Luke’s

It is a requirement of HMRC that before St Luke’s makes any Gift Aid claim we write to you to inform you of the money raised from the sale of your donations (once sufficient items have been sold). You can then choose to retain or donate these proceeds to St Luke’s. To claim back funds raised you must contact St Luke’s in writing within 21 days of the date of this letter. If you have provided an email address, we will inform you by email, but if the email fails we will need to inform you by post.

Your details will be shared with HMRC in order to enable us to make a Gift Aid claim.

Any goods not sold will be recycled and cannot be returned. We reserve the right to terminate this agreement at any time.
